So I was able to snap a few photos of the Blood Supermoon tonight - the rare lunar eclipse which happened during a supermoon. I was with my daughter, and didn't leave the city - so lots of light pollution, and I didn't take the time to set up properly, so most of my shots were less than good. But this one was ok:
I went on a daddy daughter date with my oldest girl today - the catch? We spend no money. Makes one think of more creative things to do. So, knowing she loves to paint, we went to Lethbridge's Henderson Lake for a nice landscape to paint.
Here's my painting (8x10 acrylic on dollar store canvas we had in our craft supplies). Conclusion? If you're worried about the upgrade process, skip iOS 9, wait to see if iOS 10 is worth it. As for me, if there's nothing major in iOS 10, I might be switching teams next time around.
Photos... and lots of them!! Several views of the Citadel Peaks (situated in the US), a black bear, Waterton's "International" tour boat, The Prince of Whales Hotel, Burnt Rock (Red Rock) Falls, Mt. Boswell, Hell Roaring Canyon and of course Crypt Lake surrounded by fresh snow. Yup - it was a chilly hike at the top! There are 92 photos out of the 300+ that I took... enjoy! Don't forget to share with your friends on Facebook, etc. Update (Sept 13): I added one photo of Mt. Boswell for sale in my store! Scroll to the bottom for a video! Here's a preview picture for an upcoming post full of a hike I did today - Crypt Lake at Waterton National Park... Beautiful place!! (but it was cold... brr).
And sorry to the people who got squished and skewed in the panorama processing! This photo is one of my older favorites. I have created a limited time promotion of 25% savings off the 24x16 size canvas print.
Click here for the promotion page! These trees which were apparently falling toward Henderson Lake at one point, but are now growing mostly vertical offer a cool photo spot, great memories for kids, and interesting conversation pieces. The trees are on the North side of Henderson Lake, a bit East of the main playground. (Lethbridge, AB) Being a teacher means, well, I teach! Math, science and some techology based options classes like 3D modeling/printing, some programming, and hopefully this semester some photography at the high school level. What that also means, however, is that my time is limited for my hobby of taking landscape photos - I'll do what I can, and I'll post once in a while, but not as much as I'd like to. Below is an old photo, but it still looks great! |
